A high-ranking delegation from the Chinese Ministry of Commerce visited Thuringia and the city of Gera for the first time. Roberto Tamaske, chairman of the Thüringen international e.V. business development association, accompanied the Chinese delegation of the China International Investment Promotion (CIIPAG) agency.
In addition to the meeting with Geras Mayor Julian Vonarb (non-party), there was an exchange of experiences with the Chamber of Industry and Commerce of Eastern Thuringia, LEG Thuringia and companies of the city.
The director of the investment promotion agency CIIPAG, Xu Yaojun, was impressed by the beautiful cityscape and the rich history of Gera and emphasized his optimism for a good economic cooperation. With his agency, Xu Yaojun wants to help establish contacts with Chinese partner companies, so that not only Thuringia’s industry, but also areas such as culture and education would benefit. CIIPAG also organizes conferences to bring together small and medium-sized enterprises in Germany and large ones in China.
The Thuringia International Economic Development Association is focusing on cooperation in order to attract Chinese companies as investors for Eastern Thuringia in the coming years. With Heiko Wendrich, chairman of the Student Support Association, the possibilities of enrolling Chinese students and research cooperation were discussed.
During the working visit, the German delegation was invited to a meeting in China and the company headquarters in Frankfurt. The chairman, Roberto Tamaske, said that topics such as civic cooperation at the local level should also be discussed.
